Our Editorial Mission
Harsch’s editorial mission is to help U.S. readers make informed financial decisions through accurate, clearly written, and regularly updated content. This policy explains how our content is created, reviewed, and kept independent from commercial pressure.
Independence from Advertising
Our editorial team operates separately from our business and advertising teams. Writers and editors do not have visibility into specific advertiser relationships when creating or reviewing content. No advertiser, affiliate partner, or commercial entity is permitted to review, edit, or approve editorial content before publication.
When an article discusses a specific commercial product or service and an affiliate or advertising relationship exists, that relationship is clearly disclosed at the top of the article.
How Content Is Created
- Guides are written by subject-matter writers with relevant professional or journalistic experience.
- Every piece is reviewed by a second editor for clarity, structure, and accuracy of claims.
- Topics involving tax, retirement accounts, credit scoring, or regulatory detail are checked by a licensed financial professional (CFP®) or CPA.
- Rate tables, fee data, and economic statistics are refreshed on a monthly cycle by our data desk.
- Each published article displays the date it was last reviewed.
Sources and Attribution
We rely on primary sources whenever possible: federal agencies (CFPB, FDIC, Federal Reserve, IRS, BLS), official product disclosures, and peer-reviewed or well-documented research. Secondary sources are used for context and are cited. We do not publish unattributed claims about product performance or financial outcomes.
Corrections
If we discover a factual error, we correct it promptly and note the correction when the change is material. Readers who spot an error are encouraged to contact us at editorial@harsch.org with the article URL and the specific detail in question. We aim to respond within two business days.
No “Get Rich Quick” Content
We do not publish content that promises unrealistic returns, promotes speculative schemes, or uses fear-based or hype-driven framing. Our guidance is educational and intended to support long-term, sustainable financial decisions.
AI and Content Creation
We may use AI tools for research assistance, outline generation, or data summarization. Final published content is written, fact-checked, and approved by human editors. We do not publish AI-generated articles without human review and accountability.
