About Harsch

Independent financial education, built by people who have worked inside banks, credit unions, and fintech products — not just written about them.

Our Mission

Harsch exists to close the gap between how financial products are marketed and how they actually work. We publish clear, sourced, and regularly updated guides on personal finance, credit, investing, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in money management — written specifically for a U.S. audience navigating U.S. financial institutions, tax rules, and regulations.

Harsch launched in 2026 in Austin, Texas, built by finance and media professionals frustrated by two extremes in financial content: dry, jargon-heavy explainers written to satisfy compliance departments, and hype-driven “get rich” content with no accountability. Harsch was built to sit between those two poles: rigorous, but readable.

What We Cover

  • Personal Finance — budgeting systems, emergency funds, debt payoff strategy, and everyday money decisions.
  • Credit Cards & Credit Scores — how credit scoring models actually work, and how to use credit as a tool rather than a trap.
  • Investing Basics — foundational, beginner-safe explanations of retirement accounts, index investing, and risk.
  • AI & Money — a clear-eyed, non-hyped look at how machine learning is used in budgeting apps, fraud detection, and robo-advisors.

Editorial Independence

Harsch’s editorial team operates independently from our business team. Writers and editors do not have visibility into advertiser relationships, and no advertiser is permitted to review or approve editorial content before publication. Where an article discusses a specific commercial product, any affiliate or advertising relationship is disclosed at the top of that article.

Read our full Editorial Policy for details.

How We Verify Accuracy

Guides are drafted by our writers and edited for clarity and structure. Tax, retirement, and credit topics are checked against primary public sources (such as IRS and CFPB materials) and updated when rules change. Rate and statistic tables are refreshed on a monthly cycle by our data desk. Each article displays the date it was last reviewed.

Our Team

Harsch is written and edited by a small, named team of finance writers, editors, and licensed reviewers — not by anonymous contributors.
